Newsflash

Journal Entry: Wed May 12, 2010, 8:35 PM
Long time no blog and the group has become silent. Time to change this!

As we all know, Metaphysis and Tacitus are somehow silbings so I may also notify you that the Tacitus 1.1 Release is imminent. A big tester squad verified the correct functionality of the innerworkings recently and the GUI is right about to get finished. Alltho your graphic frontend is undergoing a testing phase of at least one week after its done, the release is pretty close and it is faster, stabler and more beautiful than ever. Here is what is in the box right now:

I am sure you will enjoy ;)

But there is also good news for those with not-so-big interest in raytraced fractals or with too weak hardware. Metaphysis Beta has made progress and even if there are no recent shots yet - you will achieve similar stability and experience as on Tacitus. There have been changes deep in the reactor as well as on the operating surface so be prepared :)
And to give you a slight idea whats popping in the set of features: Metaphysis Beta will become compatible to Apophysis plugins! Yes, all your flames will load.

So I hope you stay tuned and and eager for whats coming.

Have you implemented a 3D mesh object export yet for Tacitus (such as export OBJ or STL format meshes), and if not is that in planning?

I had a thought about it. But right now, there is zero work done for it.

I imagine it will demand a lot of work, no way around that probably, nevertheless, it would truly set Tacitus way out ahead of the pack, propelling it's fame and subsequent cashflow and success.

I hope you can manage to work it in at some point, the potential for using 3D shapes generated by such a tremendously interesting program are endless! : )

All the best, and I'll be watching for sure! : )
